JLWA works with tribes, Indian organizations (tribal and urban), and federal agencies  
to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services in the areas of Indian
healthcare, substance abuse and mental health, and Indian affairs.

JLWA develops feasibility studies for the
Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in
Washington to add substance abuse
treatment services for tribal youth. The
study also looks at improving behavioral
health screenings in primary care.
Project News
JLWA works with the National Indian
Health Board and the University of
Washington to develop a $4.4 million
behavioral health screening and brief
intervention project for 20 federal and
tribal healthcare sites.

JLWA works with the Native American
Center for Excellence and the Hoop Dance
Society of the Grand Traverse Band of
Ottawa and Chippewa Indians in Michigan
to obtain national recognition as an
evidenced-based program.
The Indian Health Service selects JLWA to
evaluate best practices in primary care at
17 federal and tribal healthcare sites in 10
states.
