JLWA worked with the Resource Management Team (RMT) of the Yakama Nation and
Toppenish School District to plan and develop process and outcome evaluation
procedures. The purpose of the evaluation procedures are to: 1) identify more students
who may be at risk for failure in school and 2) determine if prevention and intervention
resources meet the needs (based on the risk factors) of American Indian students
referred to the RMT. The RMT included drug and alcohol counselors, teachers, and
school administrators and support staff organized to provide support to students who
are at high-risk of failing in school.
